Methodology

From a brief on a Tuesday
to a stamped certificate
by next month.

Four steps, scoped at the brief stage. Every measurement is traceable to a calibrated instrument; every report is signed by the accredited laboratory. The same auditor who reviews our scope reviews your file.

STEP 01

Brief & scope

Tell us what you're shipping and where. We map the regulatory scope and the test programme that follows.

STEP 02

Sample submission

Send physical samples to Bonheiden. We log, photograph and condition them per ISO requirements.

STEP 03

Test & record

We run the agreed programme under accredited conditions. Slow-motion footage of every break point is captured for the report.

STEP 04

Report & certify

A signed accredited test report — and where applicable, a UN-mark certificate — issued under our BELAC scope.

Bottom Lift Test
ISO 16495
  • 01
Bottom Lift Test, Large Packaging Type 50G
Verifies that loaded large packagings withstand a controlled lift from below — the regulatory test for forklift handling of dangerous-goods 50G design types.
    ISO 16495
  • 02
    Burst Resistance Test
Hydraulic pressure applied to a clamped sample until rupture. The classical metric for board strength against internal pressure during transit.
    ISO 2759
  • 03
    Cobb1800 Test
Water absorption over 1800 seconds. Critical for boxes shipped through humid corridors or stored in non-conditioned warehouses.
    ISO 535
  • 04
    Determination of Gram Weight
Areal mass measurement on conditioned samples. The upstream metric that explains downstream structural performance.
    ISO 536
  • 05
Free-fall sequences from regulated heights with prescribed orientations — the regulatory proxy for a dropped pallet on a warehouse floor.
    ISO 16495
  • 06
    Edge Crush Resistance Test
Compressive load applied to the cut edge of a corrugated sample. Predicts how a stack of boxes will hold up under its own weight.
    ISO 3037
  • 07
    Puncture Resistance Test
Energy absorbed before pyramid-tipped probe penetrates the board. The closest lab analogue to a forklift tine misjudging a corner.
    ISO 3036
  • 08
    Stacking Test
Load applied for a 72-hour hold at controlled humidity. The discipline of warehouse storage, expressed as a single pass/fail certificate.
    ISO 16495
  • 09
    Thickness
Caliper measurement on conditioned samples. The reference dimension every other structural test relates back to.
    ISO 3034

Heavy machinery spare parts · Antwerp port

Custom puncture and edge-crush programme for non-standard transit boxes shipped to North African terminals.

“We had a Febelauto battery shipment held at the German border because of a packaging declaration. Walter at Testpack turned a complete UN-mark report around in the time we’d budgeted just to find a lab.”
