The standard,
set in fibreboard.
An independent EN ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory for the corrugated-cardboard boxes that move regulated, valuable and dangerous goods. We certify them for every transport mode: road, rail, sea & air. Audited by BELAC under reference 743-TEST.
The new specialist alongside BVI for UN-certified packaging in corrugated cardboard.

you ship under.
Six certification routes for corrugated-cardboard packaging, from full UN combination boxes to limited-quantity consumer shipments and raw-board analysis. Not sure which one applies? A short brief is enough for us to scope it.
Combination packaging
A UN-marked fibreboard outer with tested inner receptacles. The workhorse box for dangerous-goods liquids and solids in transport.
Variation packaging
A 4G pre-approved to carry a range of untested inner packagings within defined limits, giving you flexibility without re-certifying every fill.
Large packaging
The large-packaging design type for bulky or heavy dangerous-goods loads above standard box volumes, proven on bottom-lift and stacking.
Excepted Quantities
Packaging under the Excepted Quantity regime, for very small amounts of dangerous goods with a lighter regulatory and documentation burden.
Limited Quantities
Limited-Quantity packaging for consumer-sized amounts, shipped under relaxed labelling and paperwork rules but still verified for transit.
Material analysis
Material-level board testing: grammage, thickness, burst, Cobb and crush metrics that underpin every certified box.
Nine standardised tests.
One accredited roof.
Hover a test below and the slow-motion footage from our most recent run swaps in on the left. The full Tests page splits them into UN-accredited and supporting analyses, each with its ISO & DIN norm.

01
ISO 16495Bottom Lift Test, Large Packaging 50GVerifies that loaded large packagings withstand a controlled lift from below, the regulatory test for forklift handling of dangerous-goods 50G design types.
-
02
ISO 2759Burst Resistance TestHydraulic pressure applied to a clamped sample until rupture. The classical metric for board strength against internal pressure during transit.
-
03
ISO 535Cobb1800 TestWater absorption over 1800 seconds. Critical for boxes shipped through humid corridors or stored in non-conditioned warehouses.
-
04
ISO 536Determination of Gram WeightAreal mass measurement on conditioned samples. The upstream metric that explains downstream structural performance.
-
05
ISO 16495Free-fall sequences from regulated heights with prescribed orientations. This is the regulatory proxy for a dropped pallet on a warehouse floor.
-
06
ISO 3037Edge Crush Resistance TestCompressive load applied to the cut edge of a corrugated sample. Predicts how a stack of boxes will hold up under its own weight.
-
07
ISO 3036Puncture Resistance TestEnergy absorbed before a pyramid-tipped probe penetrates the board. The closest lab analogue to a forklift tine misjudging a corner.
-
08
ISO 16495Stacking TestLoad applied for a 72-hour hold at controlled humidity. The discipline of warehouse storage, expressed as a single pass/fail certificate.
-
09
ISO 3034ThicknessCaliper measurement on conditioned samples. The reference dimension every other structural test relates back to.
We don’t test boxes.
We test what’s inside them.
The test programme is driven by the contents: their hazard class, fragility and value. Here are the goods we most often certify packaging for.
Lithium batteries
EV packs, consumer cells and end-of-life batteries. We test and certify the UN 3480 / 3481 outer packaging for ADR road transport.
Glass & fragile goods
Bottles, vials and lab glassware, with drop and stacking programmes tuned for breakage-sensitive contents and their inner cushioning.
Plastics & polymers
Jerrycans, drums and rigid plastics inside fibreboard outers, given full combination-packaging validation as a 4G or 4GV.
Chemicals & liquids
Flammable and corrosive liquids, with leak-proof certification across packing groups I-III and surrogate-fluid drop testing.
Pharmaceuticals
Clinical and cold-chain shipments, with insulated secondary packaging proven for two-jurisdiction acceptance on a single report.
Industrial parts
Heavy spares and machine components, with custom puncture and edge-crush programmes for non-standard transit boxes.

Testpack operates as a fibreboard packaging testing facility accredited under EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by BELAC, the Belgian Accreditation Body. Reference 743-TEST. The scope certificate is public, and you can download it from the badge.
Recognized by the Belgian authorities as a test laboratory and approval body for dangerous-goods packagings of design types 4G, 4GV and large-packaging design type 50G.
