Test catalogue

Every test,
and the norm behind it.

We split our catalogue in two: the UN tests we run under BELAC accreditation, and the supporting board analyses that explain and predict them. Each test below carries its ISO and DIN norm, a short description, and a photo from the lab in the finished site.

UN · BELAC 743-TEST Under accreditation

The four UN tests in our accredited scope

These results carry the accredited mark and feed directly into a UN-mark certificate for 4G, 4GV and 50G design types.

UN 01

Bottom Lift Test, 50G

ISO 16495 DIN EN ISO 16495

Confirms a loaded large packaging survives a controlled lift from below, the regulatory test for forklift handling of 50G design types.

UN 02

Stacking Test

ISO 16495 DIN EN ISO 16495

A calibrated load held for 72 hours at controlled humidity. Warehouse storage expressed as a single pass/fail certificate.

UN 04

Cobb1800 Test

ISO 535 DIN EN ISO 535

Water absorption measured over 1800 seconds. Decisive for boxes shipped through humid corridors or stored unconditioned.

Supporting board analyses

Run to recognised ISO/DIN methods but outside the accredited scope. These are the upstream material metrics that explain and predict UN performance.

Std 05

Burst Resistance Test

ISO 2759 DIN EN ISO 2759

Hydraulic pressure applied to a clamped sample until rupture, the classical metric for board strength against internal pressure in transit.

Std 06

Determination of Gram Weight

ISO 536 DIN EN ISO 536

Areal mass measured on conditioned samples, the upstream figure that explains a board’s downstream structural performance.

Std 07

Edge Crush Resistance Test

ISO 3037 DIN EN ISO 3037

Compressive load applied to the cut edge of a corrugated sample. It predicts how a stack of boxes holds up under its own weight.

Std 08

Puncture Resistance Test

ISO 3036 DIN EN ISO 3036

Energy absorbed before a pyramid-tipped probe penetrates the board, the closest lab analogue to a forklift tine misjudging a corner.

Std 09

Thickness

ISO 3034 DIN EN ISO 3034

Caliper measurement on conditioned samples, the reference dimension every other structural test relates back to.

Slot 10

One more test?

The briefing list may have a tenth test cut off, so this slot is reserved for Testpack to confirm and fill.

Note

ISO references are confirmed from the briefing; the paired DIN designations shown are indicative European adoptions and will be finalised by Testpack on the live site. Lab photos drop into each card in place of the placeholder textures.
